Alright everybody, we are moving into the season of giving and we are calling on you for some help in this one. In our quest to be the best Bradenton Tattoo shop, we have signed up to host a food drive for the Food Bank of Manatee and they have asked us to aim for 200 lbs. We fully intend to destroy that number, but we can’t do it without your help, I am aiming for us to reach 1,000 lbs. We will be taking both dry and canned food donations as well as cash donations. $1 equates to one pound of food when given to the Food Bank. I know we don’t just speak for ourselves when I say we have a lot to be thankful for and we are going to do as much as we can, as often as we can to try and make a difference to those who need help. We have set up the box for collections in our shop and we will be ready to take whatever cash donations you want to contribute.
The food drive is starting today (Oct. 3rd) and will be ending on November 20th to allow a few days for the food to reach people on Thanksgiving.

I want to share a few facts about manatee county with you and why drives like this are so important. I have taken a post directly from the website.

- Nearly 50,000 individuals in Manatee County are food insecure, of which 17,940 are children. · The Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice area was in the top 50 areas for the food hardship rate* for households with children, with Manatee County at 27%.
- A recent study by Feeding America of Tampa Bay showed that 58% of families surveyed were forced to choose between buying food and paying for basic utilities.
- In 2013, there were more than 2,000 homeless school children and siblings identified in Manatee County and at least 1,000 more who are not school-age or not reported.
